On the morning of July 6, 2023, Mr. Stéphane Graber, Director General of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), came to the Logistics School for an exchange. Jiang Xu, Dean of the Logistics School, Rui Jiaming, Vice Dean, Sun Tao, Deputy Secretary, Zhang Xufan, Director of Supply Chain Management, Guo Lin, Liaison Person for Foreign Cooperation, and student representatives from the International Class on Training Top Talents in Supply Chain Management participated in the exchange.



Dean Jiang Xu introduced the characteristics and basic situation of the  Logistics School, while Director Zhang Xufan introduced the enrollment, training, and employment situation of the Supply Chain Management (International Logistics and Supply Chain Management) major.


Mr. Stéphen Graber introduced the basic situation of FIATA. The International Freight Forwarders Association was established in 1926 and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. As an authoritative organization in the international logistics and freight industry, FIATA is committed to providing support and guidance to global freight forwarders and logistics service providers. Its members are spread around the world, including freight forwarders, logistics service providers, pipeline transportation service providers, airlines, railway transportation companies, port operators, etc. FIATA provides members with a series of services, including the development, promotion, and implementation of treaties, regulations, and standards related to international freight transportation, as well as the promotion and training of freight forwarding business. The main goal of FIATA is to promote the development and evolution of global freight forwarding business, creating a safe, reliable, and efficient international freight transportation environment. Mr. Stéphen Graber has worked at the University of Geneva and has industry and university experience. Both sides exchanged views on digitization of supply chain management, green supply chain, logistics talent cultivation and training, and reached consensus.


After communication, both parties plan to jointly hold industry and academic discussions on the theme of "Digital Supply Chain" in 2024, and attempt to promote joint research in the field of freight forwarding.
