Logistics School Held 2022 Sino-German Logistics Forum

On May 28, 2022, Logistics School held the 2022 Sino German Logistics Forum. Affected by the epidemic, the forum was held in the form of live broadcast of Tencent conference.The theme of the forum is to improve the image of logistics. The forum specially invites Professor Perk Bremer of the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg - Schweinfurt, Professor Rembert Horstmann of the Marketing Department of Cologne Business School, Professor Armin F. Schwolgin of Baden Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University, Loerrach, Germany, and Mr. Marc Ostermann from M. A.Fiege, Professor Karsten Machholz of the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg - Schweinfurt, Germany, and Associate Professor Chang Yimei of the Logistics School of BWU, as speakers, shared relevant opinions in their respective professional fields. Teachers from the Logistics School of BWU, students from the Sino German exchange program and students from the international logistics class participated in the forum online, and other teachers and students watched the online live broadcast of the forum.

At the beginning of the forum, a short film was used to review the highlights of cooperation and exchanges between BWU and universities and enterprises of German in the past 16 years. Then, six guests delivered wonderful speeches with different themes.

The theme of Professor Bremer's speech was "The Road Rail Interface in Intermodal Logistics". He first introduced the development status of global multimodal logistics, and gave a detailed explanation around the importance of cost reduction and efficiency increase of current Combined transport by highway and railway and the challenges encountered in the new era.

Professor Horstmann delivered a speech around "The Image of Logistics in Germany: Still Room for Improvements", which described the process of logistics development in Germany and the aspects that need to be improved at this stage in detail, and proposed the key role and important role that German logistics needs to play in the post epidemic era.

The theme of Professor Schwolgin's speech was "Branding of Logistics Products and Services", which made the teachers and students more deeply understand that logistics is not only a simple transportation of goods, but also an important value-added approach that runs through the upstream and downstream of the supply chain. In today's economic globalization, logistics enterprises need to pay more attention to grasp all aspects of logistics transportation to create their own unique brand value.

Mr. Ostermann's speech theme is "Positioning of contract logistics in the B2B market". His speech mainly focuses on the Positioning of contract logistics in the B2B market, and introduces in detail how enterprises should extend contract logistics upward and downward, as well as the importance of providing more refined supply chain services.

Focusing on "Digital Sourcing - how to increase the resilience and sustainability of our Supply Chain Ecosystems", Professor Karsten elaborated on how to dig deep into data to maintain the resilience and sustainability of the supply chain, and explained the important role of new technologies such as big data and blockchain in improving the supply chain ecosystem.

The theme of Associate Professor Chang Yimei's speech was "The the Belt and Road Initiative and China Railway Express", which clarified the original intention of China Railway Express to drive win-win cooperation among countries around the world, and introduced the significant benefits of China Railway Express to the logistics industry and economic construction of countries in recent years by relying on its advantages of safety, speed, green and environmental protection, and little impact from the natural environment.

This forum discussed how to improve and promote the rapid development of the logistics industry under the background of economic globalization, providing a new perspective and ideas for the new development trend of domestic and international logistics and supply chain. The students actively communicated and interacted with the speakers, demonstrating good spiritual outlook, professional ability and English proficiency. At the same time, the forum also broadened the international vision of the teachers and students, consolidated the achievements of cooperation between BWU and Universities and enterprises from German, and further strengthened our cooperation with German universities.
