Recently, the Global Sustainability Supply Chain Student Competition, jointly organized by the United Nations Friends of Sustainable Transport, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, the Global Supply Chain Classroom Alliance, and the International Centre for Transport Diplomacy (website: https://www.supplychainsdg.org/ )came to an end, two competition groups consisting of four students from Logistics School and four students from the University of Rhode Island in the United States won gold and bronze medals .

2023 marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The past 30 years have also been a period of rapid globalization, with global supply chains providing strong support for international trade, but at the same time becoming an important source of greenhouse gas emissions and climate related risks. In recent years, the global supply chain has experienced a large-scale disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia Ukraine war and extreme weather. Improving the sustainability and resilience of the supply chain is crucial for helping people restore connectivity and economic vitality after the pandemic. The 2023 Global Sustainable Supply Chain Student Competition is an initiative aimed at bringing students from all over the world together to jointly promote the achievement  of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.




  The competition simulates real-world business operations, brings together student teams from developed and developing countries to collaborate and develop action oriented sustainable solutions for global supply chain challenges. 71 participating teams from around the world are developing and producing innovative solutions for the challenges faced by sustainable supply chain development. This includes Tsinghua University in China, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing Wuzi University, University of Maryland in the United States, University of Rhode Island in the United States, Iowa State University in the United States, French Institute of Advanced Logistics, Frankfurt University of Technology in Germany, University of Algeria, Tajikistan University of Technology, etc.After the first round of regional competition (written submission in English) on October 22, 2023, the second round of regional competition (English speech presentation) from November 11 to 19, 2023, and the third round of global competition (English speech presentation) on December 4, 2023, 8 teams stood out. Among them, two groups composed of four students from the Logistics School of our university and four students from the       University of Rhode Island in the United States won gold and bronze medals respectively:
