Representatives from the International Office and the School of Logistics attended meetings.

Vice President Liu Dake first welcomed the visit of Michael Lurie and his delegation, and stated that during the severe outbreak of the pandemic in 2021 and 2022, six students from our school went to the University of Plymouth to participate in the 3+1 double degree program. This fully demonstrates the attraction of the cooperation projects between the two schools, and also represents that there are more possibilities for future cooperation.

Considering that the delegation are visiting our university for the first time, Vice President Liu Dake highlighted the unique characteristics of our university as the only public university in China and one of the few international universities with logistics and circulation as its main features. For decades, our school has trained a large number of senior professional talents in the field of circulation for the country, especially in industries such as logistics and securities futures, where graduates enjoy a high social reputation. At the same time, the school attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchange. Last year, the application for the Ministry of Education's Sino foreign cooperative undergraduate program in the field of big data was successfully approved and held with the University of New Haven in the United States. It is hoped that during the visit of University of Plymouth, we can further strengthen our deep cooperation with British universities in joint training and scientific research.

Minister Michael Lurie and Deputy Dean David Adkins responded that Beijing Wuzi University is a university with distinctive professional characteristics and is honored to become a partner with our school. University of Plymouth values cooperation with our university and is willing to expand more cooperation projects on the basis of existing cooperation. Meanwhile, the University of Plymouth has recently received the UK Teaching Excellence Gold Award, which is the highest honor in the UK teaching community.

Dean Jiang Xu introduced the professional characteristics and international exchanges of the School of Logistics. The Logistics College relies on a Full-system, full-coverage, full-chain logistics education system in logistics management, logistics engineering, procurement management, supply chain management, and quality management majors, cultivating a large number of outstanding professional talents for the logistics industry. We hope that both parties can expand their cooperation in education, scientific research, international conferences, and competitions, and provide suggestions on the mechanism for promoting joint work. Minister Michael Lurie and Deputy Dean David Adkins expressed great expectations for further in-depth cooperation in scientific research, academia, and two-way communication between teachers in relevant professional fields. Both sides have also established a communication mechanism for the feasibility of cooperation in the next stage.

At present, our school and the University of Plymouth have achieved good results in the joint training of students with 3+1 double degrees. On the basis of consolidating the existing cooperation, we will focus on key work, taking the university as the foundation, and deepen the intercollegiate cooperation between the university to university, and major to major, truly producing more cooperation results in talent cultivation and professional construction.

Prior to the meeting, Deputy Dean David Adkins gave an academic lecture on "Maritime Logistics Policy in the Context of Industry 4.0" to students.
